Saturn Research Project

2023

The Saturn Research Project is an open platform for archival research, initiated by artists MAF and blk banaana through a pilot community workshop in Berlin, DE. It centers on the collective exploration of creative influences through shared artwork and media contributed by Black artists and creatives worldwide.

Artists continuously draw from personal experiences and the media they engage with, shaping their expressions in unique ways. The Saturn Research Project emerged from conversations about these influences, revealing the distinct yet interconnected ways we process and reinterpret shared sources. Expanding on this idea, we curate contributions from Black creatives across the diaspora, fostering an evolving exchange of ideas and media.

Our goal is to cultivate an inclusive, multimedia platform collaboratively built by Black artists globally. By assembling and showcasing diverse influences, we invite visitors to engage with the creative processes that shape artistic expression.
